These terms apply to your use of Japow, a web app for overnight snowfall forecasts at ski resorts in Japan, operated by カケラ ("we", "us"). By using Japow you agree to them.
1. What Japow is
Japow shows forecast snowfall for the night from 18:00 to 09:00 Japan time, a reliability grade, and related conditions. The figures are modeled estimates, worked out from weather model output. They are not measurements, resort snow reports, or guarantees of what you will find.
2. Use at your own risk
Driving to and skiing in mountain terrain carries real risk. Forecasts can be wrong, and roads, lifts and avalanche conditions are outside what Japow shows. Check the resort's own information and official road and avalanche notices, and make your own decisions.
3. Accounts
You can use the forecast without an account. An account is created with your email address and a one-time code. You are responsible for keeping access to that address and for activity under your account. To close your account, email support@kakera.app.
4. Alerts
Alerts are sent by push notification and email when a forecast meets the conditions you set. They depend on forecast data, your device, your browser and third-party delivery services, so we can't promise that every alert arrives on time or at all. Don't rely on an alert as your only source of information.
5. Japow+ and payment
Japow+ is a one-time purchase that raises the alert limits for 30 days. It doesn't renew automatically. Prices, payment methods, billing timing and the refund policy are stated on the seller information page, and they apply to any purchase you make. Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor, and we don't receive your card number. If we change a price, the change applies to later purchases.
6. Acceptable use
Don't break or overload Japow, scrape it heavily, or use it unlawfully.
7. Our content and your data
Japow's design, text and software belong to カケラ or its licensors. Weather data comes from third-party sources, and resort and webcam links lead to sites we don't control. How we handle your personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Changes and availability
Japow is provided as it is, and we may change, suspend or end any part of it, including the free offering. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms. We can update these terms, and the date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use Japow after a change means you accept it.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance over any dispute about them, to the extent the law allows.
